Can you introduce yourself in a few words?
My name is Isabelle Peyrouse and I am an image consultant. I do this job to make women beautiful, simply, and to transmit this know-how. I didn't do this job before. I was in finance, in wealth management and I wore a suit, whether it was trousers or a dress, and high heels; it was my trademark!
I started image consulting because I love fashion and beauty and it was a way to unite the two to help women feel beautiful. When I changed jobs, I completely gave up tailoring because I had worn too much but for the past few years, I have been putting it back on because it is a real pleasure. It gives a real confidence.
What is ambition for you?
Ambition is doing what you love and that's why I changed my job.
Is there a woman who symbolizes ambition for you?
I think of my mother who was not at all an active woman in the working world but who raised me in a smart way saying, "fight, work, don't expect anything from others, be strong and most of all be independent!"
Do you believe in the power of clothes?
Of course I do! Otherwise I wouldn't be an image consultant. I have seen in my different careers that clothing is very important. People trust us when we are well dressed and the tailor gives us this confidence. I also think about my mother whom I often watched working. She was a seamstress and she made her own clothes. I used to watch her get dressed and for me you can do anything you want when you are well dressed. I could see her blossoming with her clothes.
Is there a woman who inspires you?
There is one woman that has my attention, and that is Coco Chanel. I've always had a passion for this woman because she used masculine codes to create her own fashion and she really changed feminine norms. Like Yves Saint Laurent with the suit in his own way. Coco Chanel is still my reference because I love the accessories, I love everything she did around black and white and I also love her history. She is a woman of power in my opinion.
